True Story!
My sister-in-law, Elayne, wrote about her feelings on Facebook. It was a powerful and deeply personal statement about her observations of today’s White House. It doesn’t matter if you agree with her sentiments. That’s not my point.
Here is my point.
Her words resonated so deeply with so many that it went viral. Honestly. I had friends tell me that three or four others forwarded it to them who did not know Elayne.
But wait, it gets better.
On Twitter she saw that Bruce Springsteen had taken her words and recited them to music! Bruce Springsteen! The BOSS! When she reached out to say, “Hey, those are my words,” he gave her proper credit.
But wait, it gets better.
People like Dan Rather, Marianne Williamson, and Maria Shriver posted it. Simultaneously, organizations like CBS News and People Magazine and publications in Italy and other parts of Europe picked it up!
My challenge to you is simply this.
What are you holding back that would be received by others whose hearts may feel exactly as you do? Share without worry of what others will think because the world needs your voice. Who knows? You may find an international community waiting to welcome you. Or you may find that your words prompt new thoughts in new ways.
Speak up. Speak out. And please, please, please vote.
