itEarlier this week, I hit the damn wall.

I was lethargic and resistant to whatever tasks I needed to accomplish. With literally nowhere to run or hide, I had to have a good talk with myself. Taking the approach I might take with my best friend, I asked myself, “What’s up? How can I help?”

The answer was simple: “I am resisting what is, and could someone else please deal with it?”

How many times do I need to learn this lesson about accepting what is? But there I was, acting like a toddler, refusing to cooperate as if by making a loud enough fuss, my fairy godmother will magically appear and do all my tasks for me. As much as I believe in positive manifestation, I knew the only thing I could manifest was acceptance. When I did that, the dark cloud of resistance lifted, and I returned to my work with a new attitude.

Acceptance is a powerful tool. Focusing on what is and how to navigate it is way more empowering than wishing it were all different and waiting for someone else to change it. When I find that am the roadblock, it is so easy to remove it. When I find that I am the solution, it is easier and more joyful for me to embrace.

What walls are you hitting these days? You cannot change the quarantine status. You cannot change the kids being home from school. You cannot change working from home or needing to go to work even if you prefer not to. Yet, I propose there are many things you can make different, and it won’t require a miracle.

Hypnotherapy allows you to zero in on the problem, look at it in new ways, and come to a new, more loving way to embrace what is with greater acceptance and possibilities. I would love to help. You can find me at Mary@MaryGleason.Life.
